Genovese’s Italian Cafe in Daytona Beach is a delightful dining experience, and if you are visiting the area, is a restaurant you should add to your list. We ordered bruschetta and pizza for lunch, but the menu offers a wide range of Italian selections including pasta, calzones, and strombolis if you’re in the mood for something other than pizza.
Choosing an appetizer was tough – the restaurant offers garlic bread, broccoli with garlic oil, mussels marinara, and many more appetizer selections. We chose the bruschetta, and were surprised by the beautiful presentation and very pleased with the flavor! The fresh garlic mixed with balsamic, tomatoes, and basil on top of perfectly crispy toasted Tuscan bread was fantastic, and we both agreed we would order it again on our next visit.
There are many pizza options, and we chose the Cafe Combo which features ham, pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers & mushrooms – basically, a little bit of everything! The pizza is a perfect balance of cheese, toppings, and crust. The crust is the foundation for any good pizza, and they use a good medium sized crust with great flavor. Genovese’s definitely knows what they are doing when it comes to pizza!
The pizza was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this as your go-to spot in the Daytona Beach area if you’re in the mood for pizza, but the pasta offerings look pretty amazing, too. The pasta dishes include a salad or soup with bread, and feature a few options which look particularly delicious: the broccoli, garlic, oil and white wine is a great vegetarian dish. If you like bacon, they offer the Amatriciana which features bacon and onion in a spicy red sauce. They also offer chicken and eggplant parmigiana and other pasta items that I am positive would be just as delicious as our bruschetta and pizza.
The service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and open. We really enjoyed our experience, but if you’d prefer to stay in your room, Genovese will deliver. Genovese’s delivers to both of our properties in Daytona Beach: Atlantic Terrace Condominiums and Tropic Sun Towers. We dined in the Ormond Beach location, and they have another location in Daytona Beach.
